My Current Foundation Routine
First I prime my face with this face primer. It smells like coconuts and my skin reacts great to the texture! I’ve probably purchased 4 bottles of the primer so far.
Then I wait about 3-5 minutes before applying foundation. I swear by this foundation! I’ve worn it for about 2 years in the color Ecru and have repurchased it every time. I also love this foundation by the same brand when I want a lighter look. When I do blog shoots, I always use this foundation. I put about 1 and 1/2 dime worth on the back of my hand and use this brush to first pat it into my skin and then once my face is lightly covered, I go in fan motions with the same brush to smooth out any lines. I love putting on my foundation in natural light in the morning because you can see if there are any streaks in the light.
I have really thin skin around my eyes so I need to conceal the area, so I use this concealer in Fair Neutral. It’s by far my favorite and it barely creases on my oily skin. I put it on my eye lids and then under my eye in a “V like shape” and color it in with the concealer. I also do a line down the bridge of my nose, in an X between my brows and a line down the center of my chin. Then I use this brush to blend it in, careful not to go too far out of the areas I’ve placed it in.
While the concealer is setting in for 3 minutes, I do my brows (again by natural light) with this brow pencil in the color taupe. I’m obsessed with this brow pencil and I’ve tried a bunch but this one is my favorite by far.
Once the concealer has set it for 3 minutes or so (rough estimate) I set my concealer with this brush and this powder which I absolutely love. The powder is a very light coverage and has some pearlescence in the color. I’ve used it for years and only had to repurchase it now 3 times. After I set my concealer, I set my foundation with this brush and this powder. I also powder my neck a little to make sure the color blends in with my face and neck!
I did an entire review of foundations for “oily skin” which can be found here! I reviewed a bunch of foundations and primers and shared my likes and dislikes.
