Come every January, I always feel bummed about the holidays being over. Please tell me I’m not alone! I get so excited about the fall and holiday season, and then it’s such a let down once New Years is over. I definitely get the post holiday blues! Jeff and I actually got married in January, so it’s something we have to look forward to after the holidays!
Today I wanted to share a few ways that I try to get over the holiday slump.
Buy a New Planner: Raise your hand if you love new office supplies! Something about buying a new planner gets me so excited to plan out the new year and makes me forget that the holidays are over. I love the look of this planner and that it comes with a matching pencil! The print on the outside of this planner makes me so excited for summer and it comes in a marble print too!
Buy Cute Workout Clothes: One of my resolutions for this year (and every year) is to get more active. This is true especially this year, and even more important after I had Emersyn. So I’ve restarted BBG and there’s nothing more motivating for a new workout regime than cute workout clothes! They definitely get me excited to work out, because half the battle is getting dressed and leaving the house, am I right? I’m loving these workout leggings & this long sleeve tee for cooler temp workouts. I also love these leggings and this sleeveless top. Also how cute is this top! I love the perforations and you can’t beat the color!
Try a New Coffee Drink: One thing I look forward to in the morning is my morning coffee, especially when I have a new drink I want to try. Whether it’s a new drink at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, or you get a new coffee creamer or syrup, a new coffee drink always gets me up in the morning and gets me excited!
Clean Out Your Closet: There’s something about cleaning your closet out and donating clothes you no longer fit into or you no longer wear to get you excited about getting dressed and the future season. Every time I clean out my closet, I think of new outfits to wear and that helps me look forward to the rest of the week!
Book a Vacation: One way to beat the post holiday blues is the obvious, book a trip somewhere! Especially some place that’s tropical, like Mexico, Palm Springs, Palm Beach or the Caribbean! You get to plan out fun dressed and bathing suits and you forget all about the holidays behind you!
Try New Recipes: I love using my crock pot but I continue to do the same few recipes every time I use the crock pot. Looking up new dishes makes me excited to plan my recipes for the week and helps distract away those post holiday blues. There’s a bunch of chicken crock pot recipes here, that Jeff and I really want to try!
Try Simple Redecorating: I just added a new floor rug in our bedroom and I’ll be getting new curtains soon. Simple things like that make me feel like I’ve hit refresh on the season!
